
"From Tradition to Future Winter Games Festival" Organized in Çat District of Erzurum
Within the scope of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) 2025 Erzurum Tourism Capital events, the "From Tradition to Future Winter Games Festival" was held in cooperation with Çat District Governorship and ECO 2025 Erzurum Tourism Capital Coordination.
Inter-University Sled Race, Father-Son Sled Race and Winter Sports Introduction were organized within the scope of the festival. The event, which started with a moment of silence and the National Anthem, was colored with the show of the Çat District Governorship bar team.
"We are all excited"
Speaking at the festival, Çat District Governor İrem Baha Yağan expressed her pleasure in hosting the winter games due to Erzurum being the ECO Tourism Capital. Yağan wished the festival to become a tradition and made the following statements:
"What a person can do is limited by their means and abilities. When I came to Çat, I came with the hope of doing good things together with the institution directors and our citizens. Today, I have achieved this with you. We are all excited. May the 'From Tradition to the Future Winter Games Festival' be auspicious for all of us. I pray to God that this festival, this organization, the sled, father-son races and snowboard promotions will also provide an opportunity for our next regional festival."
Awards found their owners
Awards were presented to the athletes who won in the sled races organized within the scope of the festival. In the continuation of the program, Çat District Governor İrem Baha Yağan, Erzurum Provincial Culture Director Ahmet Yer, Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Secretary General Köksal Yavuz and their entourage visited the flavor tent where local flavors were introduced and the winter workshop.
At the end of the event, one of the flavors specific to Çat, "Çat Harmanı", was added to the cauldron and prepared. The program ended with the participants dancing the halay dance.
